الغدة النخامية Pituitary Gland غدة تقع في تجويف عظمي في جمجمة الإنسان اسفل الدماغ لها فصان الفص الأمامي (النخامة الأمامية) والفص الخلفي (النخامة الخلفيه) وهذه الغدد تفرز هرموناتها بتنظيم و اداره دقيقة جدا من الوطاء hypothalamus وهي تفرز FSH ، LH ، ACTH ، البرولاكتين اما النخامة الخلفية تفرز ADH و الأوكسيتوسين .
و تعتير الغدة النخامية من أهم الغدد في الجسم و يسميها البعض سيدة الغدد لأنها المنظمة لباقي الغدد و إذا زاد إفراظ هذه الغدة تحدث استطالة غير طبيعية في الجسم و العكس صحيح أي أن قلة أفراز تلك الغدة يؤدي إلي بطء النمو و قصر القامة
