إميل بريس دافين
Achille-Constant-Théodore-Émile Prisse d'Avennes (و. 27 يناير 1807، أفيسنيس سور هيلب - ت. 16 فبراير 1879، باريس) كان عالم آثار وعالم مصريات ومهندس معماري وكاتب فرنسي..[1][2][3][4][5][6][7]
السيرة
وُلِد بريس دافين في أفيسن-سور-هيلب، فرنسا، في 27 يناير 1807، لعائلة نبيلة من أصل فرنسي. بعد وفاة والده عام 1814، التحق بالجامعة بعد عام، بتوجيه من جده، ليتدرب على مهنة المحاماة.[8]
قرر بريس دافين أن يصبح عالم آثار عام 1836، بعد فترة قضاها في التدريس بمدرسة المشاة في دمياط.[9]
حياته في مصر
في عام 1827، عندما وصل إلى مصر، عيّنه محمد علي باشا، نائب الملك، مهندسًا مدنيًا. قضى سنوات طويلة يعيش حياة مصرية، متبنيًا اسم إدريس أفندي، وتعلم اللغة العربية، ومارس شعائر الإسلام. وقد ذكرتُ أن تبني الثقافة المصرية أدى إلى فهم أعمق للمجتمع المصري وشعبه.[10]
ألبوم شرقي
في عام 1848، ساهم بـ 30 صورة حجرية تصور الأشخاص الذين يعيشون في وادي النيل في كتاب أزياء بعنوان الألبوم الشرقي كتبه جيمس أوغسطس سانت جون، وهو مؤلف ومسافر بريطاني..[11][12]
