تاپير الملايو (Tapirus indicus)، ويسمى أيضاً التاپير الآسيوي، هو أكبر أنواع التاپير الخمسة والوحيد الذي يعتبر موطنه الأصلي آسيا.[2] يشير اسمه العلمي إلى الهند الشرقية، الموئل الطبيعي له. بلغة الملايو، عادة ما يشار للتاپير باسم كاپين، تـِنوك أو بداك تامپونگ.[3]
